When products are commonly sold to consumers or even for use on a larger industrial scale, we have the right to assume that it is safe to use. Unfortunately, that has not been the case with the popular weed killer Roundup. This widely-used herbicide has been linked to causing a variety of serious health concerns, including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
If you or your loved ones have been injured from exposure to Monsanto’s (Bayer’s) RoundUp, you may have a right to compensation. Our Ohio RoundUp lawsuit attorneys at The Dunken Law Firm have over two decades successfully advocating for victims injured by large corporations.
We are accepting cases throughout the state, and especially in the following counties with the highest amount of glyphosate exposure:

Although the agricultural giant Monsanto (Bayer) has marketed RoundUp as a safe pesticide since its introduction in 1974 and continues to do so, its key component glyphosate is now considered to be a probable human carcinogen. A landmark study published in 2015 from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), an intergovernmental agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), made the discovery and came to the conclusion that exposure to RoundUp may cause:
Additional findings from UC Berkeley and the University of Washington unveiled that the chances of developing NHL increases by over 40 percent when exposed to glyphosate. Other research has also suggested that glyphosate exposure is linked to impaired liver function and damage, kidney disease, diabetes, Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), multiple sclerosis (MS), infertility, respiratory disorders, and more.
Repeated exposure to glyphosate can put any individual in danger of developing a cancer-related illness. However, those working in jobs involving agriculture, such as farmers, are predominantly at risk. Hundreds of crops are harvested using glyphosate weed killer, including corn, wheat, soybeans, cotton, and sugar beet. Other occupations that consistently expose employees to glyphosate are landscaping, garden center or nursery maintenance, and grounds keeping.
The evidence against Monsanto is mounting. In addition to studies suggesting the company’s product is indeed linked to cancer, it is also alleged that Monsanto has known for decades that Roundup weed killer causes cancer. Instead of disclosing their information, they chose to conceal it in an effort to retain profits.
Victims suffering from RoundUp-related cancer are enraged by the manufacturer’s deception. Over 18,000 lawsuits have been filed. Many of these cases have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL). A process used to streamline litigation by temporarily consolidating similar cases to one court for discovery and all pretrial proceedings. If a settlement is not reached throughout this process, the cases are then sent back to their respective courts.
State, as well as federal cases, have proceeded to trial and several other lawsuits are scheduled to begin at the end of 2019 and in 2020. There have not yet been any large mass tort settlements, however, a 2018 bellwether (first) trial involving an individual diagnosed with NHL resulted in a $289 million jury verdict against Monsanto. Furthermore, there have been three more jury verdicts in favor of plaintiffs, totaling more than $2 billion in damages.
