Roundup is a weed and grass-killer that has been linked to the development of cancer-related illnesses, mainly non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). The product’s manufacturer, Monsanto (Bayer), is facing more than 10,000 lawsuits for failing to warn consumers of the danger in using glyphosate and other toxic chemicals found in Roundup. The Kansas lawyers at The Dunken Law Firm can help if you or a loved one has been a victim of Roundup and have developed NHL or another cancer-related illness.
We are serving clients across the state and especially those residing in the following counties, which have the highest use of glyphosate in Kansas:

Roundup is an herbicide formulated with the chemical glyphosate, which blocks an enzyme plants need in order to grow. Roundup Original’s label indicates that 41% of the product is glyphosate, while the other 59% is made up of “other ingredients,” that are not named. Most formulations of Roundup contain a soap-like chemical called Polyethoxylated tallow amine (POEA), a surfactant that helps glyphosate soak into the plant. Crops that are commonly sprayed with RoundUp include, soybeans, corn, sorghum, canola, alfalfa, sugar beets, cotton, and wheat.
The use of surfactants may make glyphosate even more dangerous when humans are exposed to the chemical, due to the prolonging effect which allows more time for glyphosate to be absorbed into the body’s cells.
In March 2015, a division of the World Health Organization called The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), declared the active ingredient found in RoundUp (glyphosate) as a “probable human carcinogen.” The warning was based on “convincing evidence” that glyphosate causes cancer in laboratory rats and mice. Although IARC found that there was “limited evidence” linking Roundup and cancer to humans, they did however discover that glyphosate caused damage to DNA and chromosomes in human cells.
Roundup has been primarily associated with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a blood cancer that grows in lymphocytes, which are white blood cells in the immune system that help the body fight diseases.
Within the last year, there have been three jury verdicts in favor of plaintiffs, who claimed their diagnoses of NHL were linked to RoundUp. The amount of total damages awarded have far exceeded $2 billion. These verdicts have paved the way for the approximately 11,000 cases against Monsanto (Bayer) that are pending litigation.
Farm workers, landscapers, garden center and nursery employees, or any other occupation involving regular use of herbicides containing glyphosate, are especially at risk of developing NHL or another RoundUp-related cancer. Additionally, the product is a threat to Kansas consumers who regularly use RoundUp on their lawns or garden.
High exposure rates of Roundup can lead to the diagnosis of one of the following forms of cancer:
Other potential medical conditions and complications from excessive exposure to RoundUp include Celiac disease, chronic kidney disease, heart or liver disease, and birth defects.
